Teaching Philosophy: Sara understands the importance of having a safe, inclusive, and equitable place to learn. Sara puts the student and their needs first while focusing on the importance of health and technique to ensure longevity and strength. Sara has a collaborative teaching style that focuses on your artistic development and fits the lessons so that you can reach your goals… At the end of the day it is your lesson and reaching your goals, learning to do so healthily, and having fun along the way is the top priority!

MEET SARA PACHECO (BIRKEN)
Sara has been onstage since the age of 3 and has always had a love for teaching. She has performed with numerous community and professional theatre companies throughout Southwestern Ontario. She has also had the opportunity to perform in a choir at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2018. In addition to performing, Sara is continually learning by singing, performing, and acting with leading professionals in the industry. She has been teaching for the past seven years and loves to share her knowledge and techniques with her students, while also providing them with meaningful experiences.
Sara holds her Bachelor of Music for Voice with Honours in Choral Music Education and a Minor in Theatre Studies. Sara is also an OCT Certified teacher who holds her Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate Senior Division for Vocal Music and History with a specialization in Urban Schools. Sara has also won numerous awards from vocal competitions locally and provincially and holds her RCM Level 8 certification in Voice and Theory, but has completed theory courses in University placing her vocal technique, Theory and History knowledge at the ARCT Level.
Through her education, Sara has been able to take part in many courses, and professional development days focusing specifically on teaching voice to children and adolescents as well as healthy ways to mix and belt the voice for all ages. Sara also specializes in crossover training in voice and acting, teaching both classical and contemporary repertoire. She is continually performing as well as participating in Masterclasses workshopping pieces with Broadway professionals. Sara has also completed intensive training in voice and text through the Stratford Festival and with this, has the skill set to perform and teach both classical and contemporary repertoire.
In the past few years, all of Sara’s students have placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in local music festivals and have had much success in auditions and competitions. In addition to her private teaching, Sara also actively works as a Choral Director, Director, Music Director, and Choreographer for numerous companies and has a passion for conducting, teaching, directing, and performing. Sara is excited to be continuing her teaching virtually in London, Orangeville, Hamilton, Guelph, and the surrounding areas, and in person lessons in the Hamilton area. Sara hopes to meet you soon and help you find your love for the arts!
